My COWBOY Son!

Cowboy
Jan. 31, 2002 ~ May 2, 2012

My Best Furry Friend went to Heaven on May 2, 2012. It was the worst day ever. I was so torn because I knew heaven was where he needed to be, but my selfish self wanted him forever. He made my day every day for the past 10 years. I remember the day Steve picked him up. He brought him to my house and had me close my eyes. I touched him and thought he was a little bunny at first because he was so soft and furry. That's the day my world fell in love with the best dog ever. When Steve and I were dating I would go sneak over to his house and just take Cowboy to my house. I couldn't get enough of him, he was so cute.
Eventually Steve decided he wanted to settle down, and asked me if I wanted to go on a walk. I thought he was crazy because Steve hates walks and I love them. He said we can bring Cowboy too. So we went on a walk and Steve and Cowboy purposed to me and from that day forward we became a real family.
When we came home Cowboy was waiting by the door every time. Every day I would walk in from work and say "Hi Son" and give him a hug. Steve would always make fun of me because Cowboy got more attention than him. When we left he tried to sneak out the door to go with us. He loved to go for car rides and drive through Arctic-Circles drive through for his own little cone. He loved walking the neighborhood. If I said, "Want to go for a walk" he would run around like a crazy man. He gave me kisses on my chin daily. He slept by the side of my bed and every morning I would have to make sure not to smush him. Sometimes when Steve left for the day I would put him in bed with me and let him lay on Steve's pillow. Hehe! Some times Steve would put him in the bathroom because he snored so loud, but I told Steve that was the best noise ever because it meant he was still with us.  He loved to follow us all over the house and would not sit down until we did. He loved the closet for some reason, maybe because it was cool. He had a swimming pool in the back yard that he loved to plop his big belly in. His favorite thing to do was swallow his meals in one piece though. Many times I would pull a chunk of meat from his mouth cause he had it lodged in his throat. His last meal on earth was prime rid, yes real human prime rib, not dog food. He was spoiled, just a little. Cowboy also loved to chase the vacuum, bite the scale, jump up at my blow dryer, and chase the lawn mower. He also thought he could eat kids for lunch and sometimes an adult too. He was an amazing dog with a huge personality. He was my little son and I will always have a spot in my heart for this furry fat beast. He may have been small, but most his life he was 70lbs and full of lots of love. We had great fun with him and will always remember the good, the bad, and the great! Now he is playing in heaven with his friends and I'm sure Grandma Pat Pat is feeding him plenty of food from the table and taking him on long walks.
We love and miss you COWBOY!
